Weller and Koda both bring exactly the type of versatility we want represented in this litter.

The goal of this breeding is to produce sound, well-balanced hunting companions with the natural ability, drive, and trainability to excel across multiple seasons and disciplines.

Weller holds his Champion Shed Dog (CHSD), Hunting Retriever Champion (HRCH), and Master Hunter (MH) titles and is an accomplished shed dog and advanced-level gundog.

Weller is also by Cash’s Coal Is Best MH20, MNH4. I’ve had the privilege of watching Coal offspring out of multiple females develop and run at the Master National and Super Retriever Series levels, as well as have personally trained several nice gundogs directly by Coal here at @Best Retrievers making that influence another part of this cross that I’m excited about !

Koda holds her Working Shed Dog (WSD), HRC Started Hunting Retriever (SHR), and AKC Junior Hunter (JH) titles. She earned her WSD with two 1st Place finishes in the Working Division after nearly a 2-year hiatus from competition, before moving into the Champion Division, where she placed 3rd during her Champion debut. After only two days of Champion competition, she currently has 35/100 points toward her CHSD title.

Her ability extends well beyond competition. Koda is a talented naturally fallen shed hunting and game-recovery dog, as well as a versatile hunting companion for both upland and waterfowl.

We will continue accumulating points toward Koda’s CHSD title and beyond, while also expanding her résumé in other areas. Additional plans include testing for tracking certification through both the United Blood Trackers Association (UBT) and American Blood Trackers Association (ABTA).

This planned breeding will produce an all-black litter, with all puppies being yellow-factored and the potential for some to be tri-factored. Puppies will be AKC/UKC registered and placed on limited registration until contractual terms are met.
