Loot was my first dog to train for hunt tests from start to finish, and what an absolutely perfect dog he was for that. From the day he came home at 8 weeks old, he worked like a little machine. Retrieving wings to small ducks to full sized mallards by 10 weeks. No playing keep away, no puppy BS, just working like a big dog from day 1. Loot breezed through the lower hunt test stakes before a year old, finished his HRCH title at 2, and achieved his MH at 3. Any bumps we hit along the way, he took pressure well, never shutting down, and always kept his intense working attitude. He is an absolute blast to run, never ready to quit, and I’m lucky enough to be the person that gets to do it with him.

Loot likes to “do all the things”, and hasn’t met a venue yet he doesn’t love as long as he’s working and he can do it fast! In between hunt tests, we’ve dabbled in scent work, obedience, rally, and agility. He generalizes training so well that we can enter a trial setting and he just works like he’s done it a million times before even if we’ve only trained in our backyard. He achieved his novice scent work title in one weekend going 12/12 after teaching him just the week before. He is able to keep his head focused and drown out the distractions around him to get the job done.

Loot always wants to be involved in whatever you’re doing, but at the end of the day he just as happily curls up on the couch with you. He is a perfect mix of his CH/MH lines on his father’s side and FC/SAR lines on his mother’s side. All beauty, brains, and working beast.
