We know there are many breeders to choose from, however, we are a little different. We strive to offer you the happiest, healthiest companion possible by several ways including health screening, socialization, excellent veterinary care, and getting you off to a great start with a puppy care package. Before we breed, we perform critical health screenings. Both our sire and dam must be friendly, have an OFA and/or Penn Hip for healthy hips, have a veterinary ophthalmologist clearance to check for hereditary eye disease (CERF/OFA), we test their DNA, and are clear on both alleles for hereditary disease such as Exercise Induced Collapse Syndrome (also known as hereditary epilepsy) and Centro-nuclear Myopathy ( a debilitating neurological disease)- meaning they do not carry nor have these diseases, they possess a low coefficient of inbreeding (a low COI has been shown to allow a better chance to live a longer, healthier life), the dam has also been tested and is clear for PRA (a hereditary form of blindness) and the dam has had a cardiologist cardiac clearance for hereditary heart disease. To top it off, we look for as many of these clearances in the pedigree as possible. No dog is perfect, but we do the best we can. Our puppies are no couch potatoes, in the past, they have been successful field dogs with natural abilities, service dogs, highly accomplished dock dogs including world champions, starred in TV and magazine commercials and in baseball games as bat boy, compete in agility, flyball, coursing, plus much more and are family companions.
